Across the street from Grady & Gommi Speed Shop was Paul Nelson’s Auto on the corner of West Ave & West Main, which was only a block away from Bee LIne Auto. Alot of racers from that old West side of Stamford.

Paul Nelson first shop was in Riverside, Conn. at a service station that I think his dad might have owned or had something to do with.

Everyone wanted to become his friend because he had a Sun Distributor machine and was good at setting distributors up.

Four years ago Paul Nelson had a shop on Davenport St. in Stamford. Do not know if he is still there. He was also good at setting up carburators, and is a great person.

I spent my college days working at Paul Nelson’s shop in Riverside. His father had the Amoco station, I pumped gas and cleaned parts for Paul. I went off to Vietnam and on my return worked for him for a month in his new (1972) shop I believe on Davenport before heading to Florida. Paul’s a great guy!

Hey Redcutlass welcome aboard. Do you or anyone around the Stamford area remember seeing Ken Hayn (pepsiman on dover site) 56 Chevy E/G convertable. He said he sold it to a guy who had a garage/gas station in Stamford CT.
