Spring? Summer? Fall? Must NOT conflict with any normal annual event that is like always “2 nd week of ? “..each year. Some say Later …some say the Same (3rd week of Sept) some say cooler time. Now, Most anyone -Race Groups-Tracks- Show planners ,DON’T release their dates til after New Years…most also at mercy of NHRA- GoodGuys- Syracuse-IHRA- NSRA . So this may be totally pre-mature at this advanced date….but Don’t Want to get ‘trapped” .Will be contacting NETO and East Coast Gassers early again.
Personally Dino,I like the ‘fall’.Cool in the morning,and warm in the afternoon (late Sept. early Oct.) fall foliage out,scenic ride to the track in all directions,and ‘vacationers’ all done with traveling on the main highways.Plus it’s usually the ‘grand-finale’ for most drag racers at this time.Anyway,that’s my ‘personal’ vote,I’ll go along with whatever is voted the ‘most’ popular.No matter how you ‘slice’ it.it’s a “GREAT” event!!!!
Good to have towards end of racing season!After hurricane season!! Cant conflict with Cap. Area Street Rods Fall meet at The Valley usually first weekend October!
Video Bob……I know you couldn’t mean after the hurricane season, that’s Dec 1st. We don’t have any snow shoes down here. 😆 😆
We like any time the weather is nice, this years event was good but very close to Irene. Jusy who can guess the weather that far in advance. Even the weather guys need to look out the window each day to get it right.
Just got off phone with Wayne -track manager. As far as All concerned -THIRD WEEKEND of AUGUST is OURS. NHRA already screwing around with moving Div. 1 dates BUT has No effect on us.

You might want to think about penciling this date in now. There are quite a few well established nostalgia events in the North East in the Fall. We surely don’t want to conflict with one of them. My experience is that will hurt car counts and attendance. The sooner you lock it in the sooner we can start promoting it. I’ll be happy to pass out flyers at every race we attend to help.

This Date for 2011 WAS done (third Week-Aug) AFTER MUCH research with everyone we could contact from Geezers at the Grove- Nostalgia Race promoters &ALL Northeast Tracks and other sources-all during Dec-Jan. I’m contacting them ALL again earlier to be on the safe side.

Syracuse Nationals will be the weekend Before….you guys with some free time – check out all the tracks & organizations for any conflicts….still got some time …NETO & East Coast Gassers take note AND …might be a more weather freindly . When’s that Good Guy move to Mass. and don’t see any tracks posting 2012 yet .Think Wayne is working around NHRA switch of stuff…Mas -Any NHRA conflicts you see?
