If this was a one time deal to “see how it goes” then the worst is over. But you know that is not so.
And I don’t like these “stadium” tracks. As a spectator you need binoculars to see the far lane!!
Thank God the tracks we race on can’t be 4 lanes.
Lee Valentine made a great point….if they did this in sportsman classes you’d need a co-pilot!! To add to that from another forum ” 4 lane bracket racing would require a very strong neck”. I think you’d need Linda Blair as co-pilot….she had no problem looking around in all directions in “The Exorcist”!!!!!!!
I have not seen or heard even 1 yes on this 4 lane crap….We should have everyone in our group answer this post and send the results to the scum at NHRA who are ruining drag racing….I’m sure they are hearing crap about it already and our results could only help…………What do you say guys?…………………….FTNHRA…………And Dino, That was for time trials on a busy day and exibition stuff only…
I agree with Don.(Send poll results to NHRA).
But it must be cleaned up…..No bad language,or negative/insulting remarks against NHRA. 😳
IMO,they(NHRA) provides my greatest televison entertainment. 😉

Mikey, you don’t need a license to run I think it 10.0s and slower. Just looked in rule book 2009 “Valid NHRA competition license manditory for cars running 9.99 or quicker. Valid state issued drivers license required for cars running 10.00or slower” A stock big block on pump gas will run all year with no problems and be more fun than a 4 wide circus.

Pat, why would I want to limit the “pucker factor” to 10.0, when the car will run in the 9s? If I can get that sucker to run 8s, I’m going for it. The chassis is Cert for 8.50, I want to see what” my “chassis will do!! 😆 😆

As a racer I think it’s dumb but I would just bet if you asked a spectator about it they love it because of the noise.When we run Top DRagster at the night shows at Epping they also run a class called Pro Comp for super charged cars Half of them can’t even get down the track because they run over their own oil or other parts falling out of the oil pan but the spectators love it .It’s all about the noise.
Don’t they understand that they are paying an inflated price for HALF the normal show? 😮 If I’m gonna pay the shot, I want my moneys worth ! A three hour show instead of the six hours I’m used to seeing for more money is a rip-off. 😯 If you pay more, you should get more. 🙁 I’m trying to picture 4 of us that ran Gas, or Modified Production running side by side at DDS. NHRA’s phrase,,,”Two Double-Wides”..
The NHRA should do the ‘Right Thing’,, and put the 4-Wide up on BLOCKS!!
Remember National Speedway with the 4-wide..You couldn’t see all the cars..
