My opinion,way ‘too’ dangerous.The odds are against you knowing if one of the runners looses control (either inside or outside of the ‘4’ lanes) it wood be a disaster to say the least! I think also there would be a delay caused by a back-up on the ‘return road which would look like a parking lot,trying to get back to the pits.
I think it might be a good idea in case of oil downs but other then that I really do not like it.
It seems someone always wants to reinvent racing in some way in the interest of making it better but the old saying if its not broke don’t fix it applies here.
I stopped watching Nascar for the same reason they are always messing with the format and once they made the move to tracks larger then a half mile they lost me because I am not interested in watch stock cars in pack of 25 racing inches apart for hours on end. The lucky dog rule is another example of another stupid rule.
I think you see better racing at some local tracks then you see at the national level.
Even the NHRA is getting off track and forgetting the formula for what made drag racing great in the first place.
Sportman racers are the back bone of the sport and yet they are not treated very well these days.
It won’t work out well for nitro cars. That’s for sure.
Think of it. The NHRA and it’s drivers just bit the bullet for safety reasons that the 1320 foot track had to be reduced to 1000 feel. And now this… It just doesn’t make sence and won’t work. You’ll see. But I can’t believe the lack of insight on the part of these promoters. C’mon guys…!!! Really…
Anyway… it will all be on ESPN2 here in Miami at 7:00 pm. I’ll be watching from a local sports bar.
I watched some of the qualifying today on TIVO. Did you notice, when asked, all the big name drivers were a little cautious about their opinions on 4 wide?? I’d like to here WJ’s opinion…off camera. Talk about being politically correct on TV. Oh well…

I watched it all on ESPN2 here in Miami and I must say it plays well on television, but the big question in my mind now is… will they be able to keep the entry fields big enough to support it.
I hated it the first time I saw it, and I still hate it! 😮 I’m not sure I understand the reason for it, other than some sort of “come on” type thing. 😯 I would think it’s confusing for the drivers, and how about the tree/tree’s? 😕 are they actually timed “exactly” the same? 🙄 I’m with the majority, IT SUCKS!! 😈 …………Mikey 😆
