About that red ‘Cuda,
At first I thought it may have been Centolanza’s ’71 from Highland Falls. After seeing that Vitar sticker on the quarter one would assume it was automatic. I checked my scrapbook and found Lou’s car ran SS/E stick. Also, the car was light brown in color. Both cars are VERY similar having a white convt. top and that wing on the trunk. Now, is it possible they converted that car to stick from auto and painted it brown with lettering? More research to follow. One things for sure, the ’71 Hemi’Cuda conv. is rare and gets BIG $$$$ at all the major auctions!!! Think they made like 20.

Fantastic, great shots, obviously with a good camera. Much better than the one we used, think we got it out of a cereal box. Nice to have this stuff surface after all these years.

Frank M. remarked about the D and D Vette…Always like your guys input and History:
“Jerry Duhaime’s 57 Corvette.
Jerry started D & D Performance out of the back of his 57 Nomad wagon. He
was located in Bristol, CT. He then open a store, then another, then
another. . All stores closed and he moved to Arizona and opened a dealership. Sometime after that he got
cancer and died. We bought a lot of parts from his store. He lived in
Harwinton, CT in the early days and we used to street race at his house,
which was at the end of the 1/4 mile. We called it “Duhaime Flats”…
Hey Dino, Thanks for posting that 2nd picture of Jerry Duhaime’s 57 Corvette. Seeing that
car brings back memories ❗ Quick story: Jerry had his Corvette at a local welding shop to
have a roll bar installed. All of us guys hung around at the welding shop including V-Bob. Our
friend “Bootie”, who ended up with Al Oakes’ 64 Impala “The Growler” worked at that shop too.
So it’s lunch time and Bootie and the shop owner decide to go out for lunch. Bootie takes his
car key for the “Growler” and tries it in Jerry’s Corvette and it works ❗ So off they go in this
awesome 57 Corvette,427 tri-power, 4-speed….When they returned to the shop, guess you was there waiting ?? YES, Jerry ❗ ….He was the only one not smiling….. 😆 😆 Good Times..
Frank…
