On Sunday April 27, NETO Race 1 was held at Island Dragway. On a partly sunny, breezy day, 31 racers attended the race sponsored by Accurate Auto Repair. In Comp Eliminator, 2013 champion Lou LaFerrara jr picked up where he left off by winning Comp over Jim Mullen. Lou ran a 7.60 on a 7.50 dial, in his Altered to beat Jim who ran a 8.73 on a 8.50 dial in his beautiful Vega. In Nostalgia Eliminator, Henry Trapp went through five rounds to best Steve Consentino in the final. Henry ran a 10.49 on a 10.48 dial in his 55 Chevy to beat Steve who ran a 10.51 on a 10.56 dial in his 62 Dodge wagon “Yankee Clipper”.
