hi guys! this is USUALLY caused by improper burnout method, or high drum cocked on bushings or center support in trans. this man is lucky he didn’t get hurt. that is the high gear clutch drum that exploded at 12,000 rpm. it couldn’t have been much of a “race” trans with only 4 clutches in 3rd. a stocker had 5 , a caddy+trucks have 6! if you are a tech junkie ,check out kilgore trans .com /super chev and car craft / feb. 2009 i have seen 6 torqueflights do this at the track, this is why they have blankets and shields.
