Just Back from the INDY Performance Racing Industry Show…On a ‘scouting mission” for Race Sponsors. How did I do? Ah…real good…VERY long days and a lot of walking’ & Talking’ But that is my thing..1100 exhibitors…closed to the public..’hard core’ Parts and Manufacturers. Plan was to meet & greet personally ,the key players. .Loaded with Sponsor proposal packets and press releases. Hung out with Moroso…Head marketing guy Thor ,Race support Trailer director ,Howard and Scott Hall..said they’d at least repeat what they did last year. J K Motorsports returning as our ‘Title Sponsor’. Made connections with some new and unique sponsor potentials…Follow -ups in the works. Heres some Highlights….

MOROSO RETURNS as Our “Presented by” sponsor for the 8th straight year ! At every Dover Event,Our friends at Moroso Performance have stepped up to plate ,to assist us in putting on the Show. Founder Dick Moroso got his racing start at Dover in the early 60’s operating first ‘Performance Automotive” on the side,then opening up the first Moroso Performance in Greenwich,Ct. ….the letters “M&H” stood for Marvin and Harry Rifchin. Marvin’s a huge part of racing history, of course, but Harry was his less-well-known dad.Developed by Marvin Rifchin (the M in M&H Tire Co.) and his father Harry in 1957, M&H Racemasters were the first purpose-built drag racing tire. Although the original Racemasters had just seven inches of tread width, the structure and special compound of the slicks made a huge difference in performance.
While the Rifchins and their M&H Tire Co. had already made a name for themselves in the New England oval track community, the duo was relatively unknown in drag racing circles. Budget-minded drag racers opted to run with recapped tires and spend most of their money on horsepower until a young drag racer made them all take notice. Using a set of M&H Racemasters, Don Garlits was the first to go 170 miles-per-hour… and then 200 miles-per-hour!
