Looks like Leo Santucci’s got some interesting cars.
Actully…that is the 50 chevy that Leo and his wife Terry raced from the 50s till 2003 when he wrecked at Epping….car was totalled….they then purchased a 53 stude race car…..then Dec 07 we put a whole new pro mod style chassis with 6.0 cert. under it ….and last friday was our first time out scince we set the record on oct 07 at Island……great car lots of fun….turbo inline chevy six…yeah baby,,,,,thanks to all…BC
Hi Bill
sounds like you & Dad are burning the late night oil, 😉
I’ll look for pictures of Leo’s car from the valley ’07,
I still look at the head he made from 2 V-8 alum heads, 😯
not sure if much was changed under the hood, I know he mentioned
he wanted to use a late model line GM motor.
Hope to see ya’s soon
coming to Numidia this coming weekend 2 day’er.
Say hi to all
Bobby S.
Awsome Handmade engine goodies …real craftsmanship !
yeah…that`was with the old chassis….in that`configuration we went 9.78 at Islan on oct 07….right after these pictures were taken….off to the chassis shop….came in to by buddies place after a trip for Borgeson…and all that` was left of the car you see here…was the roof…upper cowl…and rear quarters…on the jig…turns out the chassis was all twisted….so much for just a few updates….missed all of 08….totally new car…go onto the valleys web site…click on pictures…and go to the rental on the 15th….some great photos of the new and improved stude…and some great ones of dad and Is 48 Austin….there is a great black and white of my first burnout in the Austin for the year…usually a good one….but this one is over the top…….thanks to all…..BC
The Studebaker is very interesting. There must be a class for that at the salt flats too and I wonder if Leo Santucci would consider going there with it for a possible record…??? Wouldn’t that be a feather in Leo’s cap…?
Juat a thought.
Well…..ya never know…..but …He has allways been a drag race guy…..but it has allways been a dream of mine to go to the salt……Dad and I are building a 29 model a roadster to go to maxton then on to the hallowed grounds of salt….and…we have put the bug in Leos ear to maybe use the engine that is in the stude now….he has 2 more ready to go much faster….so…we shall see……and you guys wonder why the hearse is taking so long…….too busy racin….
Maxton IS RIGHT NEAR Me.!..New England Guys …Convoy down with Bill…take a side trip to to Rockingham daragway Too!………..Bill we’ll GET you a trailer and Get the Hearse out to the Reunion AND Drags In whatever “Under Construction” condition its in .
