The hand built chevy powered sports car in the picture is still around and races at the Lime Rock vintage festival every year by the original owner. It used to turn in the mid tens.

John…About what year is This? Class and explain Little Elim. (History for the youngin’sa) And can ya e-mail that to me ?
Glad someone’s out there who remembers Eno ! My older brother helped Eno out when he built this car around 1959. Eno raced it at Lime Rock, and Dover. He sold it in 1963 and went on to pursue professional road racing and car building. He raced in the old USRRC series (precursor to the great CanAm series) and got to run with all of the greats (Jackie Stewart, Dennie Hulme, Peter Revson, Bruce McLaren, and on, and on). Eno found the car in
1990. Still racing a car he built 50 years ago, how cool is that !

Caption says ENO—–Slipper…”Glass Slipper” mentioned on other photos of it… BUT It can’t Be the same one from California? Came from Yonkers-Bronx I think …Smokey-Grover-Bob Swanson any help here?
Ed Cortopassi’s “Glass Slipper” I think it ran a small Chevy. it had a simmilar body design.
I woundn’t confure Ed Cortopasi’s “Glass Slipper” with the Dover car. Just two different cars with simmilar ideas going for them. In Coptopassi’s day, that’s what you did… you went up to the line with both your works and your ideas trying to beat out the other guys. That’s what was so great about early drag racing. That’s also what was so dangerous about it too…!!!
Ed Cortopassi was obviously a craftsman. I have some excellent moving video of both these cars on DVDs. And Dino Lawrance has seen it too…
Ed ‘s Slipper ran the ’56 Nationals in Kansas …thats 5 years previous the body was not pointed in front like this one and can be found by googling his name .We have MORE photos of “Dover” Slipper” ? but no info.Have contacted Ed in Calif. and Sent him Our photo to find out . Heres a shot of the RESTORED car at recent Hot Rod Reunion ….AND Car in Question running at Dover….Notice Windshield Design Differant Too…So Who WAS this ???
Check this out..Ain’t the internet Great.!…Got this reply from Ed’s SON:
…(Asking If it was His Or did he know anything )
Dino;
No, it is not. I am actually Ed Cortopassi Jr. and the Glass Slipper never made it that far east. There was a car owned by Romeo Palimedes called the Romeo that looked similar to the car in the photo.
Thanks for the inquiry.
