It’s obvious this is not the car on craigslist

And when did he switch to Hemi?

Dino I’m sending you a EDN cover please add it here. The question is; Is this Champion Auto dragster the same chassis as “Hellsapoppin” I know the steering is on the opposite side.

Here ya go …don’t think so …look how the body extends behind roll cage ,and the frame rails come together, not parralel like Abbotts. We’re talking about the First photo in this topic…not the later car that had the cool chute inclosure.

Ok …lets review…Bobby Has the first one injected ,then blown…then came the 2nd Dragsmaster chassis (with the holes in the frame fillers) -that he took to Indy in ’63(pictured here)… 3rd version 64-65 with pointed hoop cage ….Last one has the swoopy chute enclosure body .

Missed on, Ron had another Mark II looked like mine twin hoop can tell them apart, the second one had the moter further away from the firewall because of the clutch can adaptor because it had a floater rear and in & out for the trans, he tried a blown motor in my chassis and blew the drive train. So had Dode & Jim build another that is the one on the odf cd in blue and color changed Ron sold it to someone at a gas station in Ct., than the guy Tibbett’s? bought it. When Ron sold the second MARK II was when he started to run the longer DRAGMASTER chassis`s. ref; Indy, pointed hoop, one with the holed filler plate in the side rails. When Dode & Jim stopped making chassis’s was when Ron went to Fuller chassis, I do not have any info on them ALSO Ron ran a blue long wb chassis with no name on it and was powered by a Blown Lincoln. I got confirming stories last Dover show about that set up, was a bunch of racers playing with Lincoln for a while in Albany area .

And when did he switch to Hemi?

This may be when Muldownly was running that chassis??. Have not heard any stories of Ron using hemi’s, but never know he did a lot of stuff back than.

Guess that the car could have been under the Muldowneys ownership at the time of this race with the hemi.
                                                Good question to ask Ron.
