Here you can see the typical Mustang toe board rust due to the cowl leaks.
Years ago my ’66 Mustang had the same problem, but on the passenger’s side.

With so much work going on under the car, this is the perfect time to install some torque boxes to stiffen the structure up.

Time to assemble the new rear to get it down to the shop.
I went with a Detroit Truetrac and a 3.25:1 gear set for street cruising.

Finished up the new inner fender apron and cut off the brackets that held the firewall to shock tower braces. They will be replaced with an export brace once those new welds are ground smooth.

Time to say goodbye to the heavy cast chrome-plated ornaments on both sides, as the car will wear the Exterior Décor Option which deletes them and adds pinstripes and rocker panel moldings in their place.
