        38 YEARS ago I pulled into Dover for the last time as a racer. I left at 8am and would have been unloaded by now. I knew John and Jimmy the tech guys. they told me to just pull around the outside, put my number on and go. my car was always the same by then. I still remember John finding the guy with the CARDBOARD TUBE rollbar, covered with padding! again, A MOMENT OF SILENCE for the day the “music died”.

            That’s better than the guy with the cardboard scattersheild painted silver over the glue joints that were made to look like weld beads.

                ATTENTION IN THE PITS !!! A MOMENT OF SILENCE PLEASE ! Before eliminations begin, 39 years ago was the LAST DRAG RACE at the place we all cherish in our memories. Thank You Dino and crew . Pete.
