        Mikey…..Yes and yes.
We plan to make the car a driver and suspending the fuel tank underneath would have been too close to the tailpipes. The exhaust is going to come out the back of this car and it will be quieter than the Mustang. Putting the fuel tank and batteries in the trunk created more problems. Those problems include not being able to use the fuel door on the outside of the car for a tank big enough to carry a good amount of fuel. So we compromised on the two smaller tanks. Both tanks will be tied together with a #12 flex line so it will act like one tank with the batteries in the middle.

Made more progress on the interior and firewall panels today. Got a start on plumbing the front brake system also.

Dino…..The trailer is only big enough for one car and it will bring the 55 Chevy, one way or another. It may not be complete but it will be running and I plan to race it at the 4th Dover race. Got to keep the father son race going at least one more year also.
It is hard to believe it’s the 4th race already, where does the time go?

Hands are getting tired of cutting and trimming sheet metal but we are making some progress. Only a 179 days to the race.

Tom,do you have the original side glass for the ’55’,or you taking the ‘lexan’ route?

Babycakes……Side glass, I have the complete doors with the roll up windows, hoping to install those windows in fiberglass doors, after fixing some of the broken mechanical pieces inside. The rear side windows were not in the car and that area, where the crank mechanism was, is covered so the best way to fill that window area is with Lexan. Yesterday we were at the Home Depot looking at Lexan and vinyl material just to see what was available. Looks like we were thinking about windows at the same time.

Well now I can say every nut, bolt and washer in this car has been removed. Everything that is going back I can say “it is my fault if anything falls off”.
Got rear end out today. Cleaned and sanded it smooth for paint, almost looks like chrome.
