I CAN SEE FOR MILES AND MILES AND MILES AND MILES AND MILES,,,,
OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!
1967,,,,,,UNFORTUNATELY THOSE WORDS COULD NOT BE SAID WHEN GOING THROUGH
THE TRAPS AND HEADING DOWNHILL INTO THE SHUT-DOWN AREA 😮 😮
Hey Don K,,Your friends with Mark Hitt,,,RAT RACE CHOIR,,,,,Best Led Zep cover band in the Northeast..
Paul C..
You’re right Paul and Mark is one of the premier guitars in the country…….Hands down………Don…….
Had to get off the phone with Mark ‘the Hittman”to start the Game -snack and by the way Paul:
“The Who’s Pete Townshend, in an exclusive interview with Billboard, has revealed that the band’s upcoming Super Bowl halftime performance will feature a “compact medley” of their signature classic-rock anthems.
“We’re kinda doing a mashup of stuff,” the guitarist tells Billboard. “A bit of ‘Baba O’Riley,’ a bit of ‘Pinball Wizard,’ a bit of the close of ‘Tommy,’ a bit of ‘Who Are You,’ and a bit of ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again.’ It works — it’s quite a saga. A lot of the stuff that we do has that kind of celebratory vibe about it — we’ve always tried to make music that allows the audience to go a bit wild if they want to. Hopefully it will hit the spot.”

Ok, you old Rockers …Just Saw the Half Time Show with the Who…Proves it doesn’t matter how old we are BUT how we think about things….Like the Line in ‘Baba O”Reilly’ they played…
….”The happy ones are near
Let’s get together
Before we get much older.”
…………..Well We Are, right here !
DINO,
Looks like I was partially correct on my song prediction..
Got the intro to ‘PinBall Wizard’, and ‘correcto mundo’ on ‘Who Are You”.
Not too ‘shabby’ for a couple of 60+ rockers.
What keeps ‘The Who’ together…Ringo Starr’s son on drums, Zak Starkey (45 years old 😮 )
A close second to Keith ‘The Loon’ Moon..
No one on this planet,,,,,,,,can replace John Entwistle.
OK,,,,,,,Blast from the Past..
‘GATES PASS’,,,,,,,,,,Louie,,,’one hell of a lead guitarist’,,,and a 😎 Dude too..
Paul,,”Last Call”
they have pete’s brother ‘filling’ in with backup guitar to make up for what John supplied. Zak ,does a great job on drums.Gates Pass ? Mark Hitt started that Band before moving on to form Rat Race Choir!
THE most funny and entetaining Group was Prophecy who changed name to OX. Pee in your pants ,as CoCo the lead singer would sing “A Whiter Shade of Pale” sitting on a toilet.( had it in the equip.truck & took to each gig),then take his teeth out. Guitar and Organ player would have talcom powder fights during the drum solos. They always let me sit in and play Bass to “Evil Ways ” by Santana.
Did you ever go to any of the big concerts held at the Westchester County Center in White Planes where Central Ave. comes into the Bronx River Parkway…?
No…But did hit the Glen Island Casino ,where Creative Talent would put in like 4 bands at once !
DINO,
“OX”,,I think was also a ‘staple’ at the “Rock Palace”, Kent/Lake Carmel (Rt. 52)
Was that a ‘Kohler’ or ‘American Standard’ toilet they used 😆
And that ‘white powder’ that was thrown around was not talcum, but it was ‘purified’ 😯
More “Fore’ n Aft” rockers besides Rat Race Choir,,,,,T T Quick,,,,Harlequin (with their
Jethro Tull show),,,,and maybe ‘Dirty John Valby’, absolutely hilarious,,”Not For Woman
Show”.
You were the back-up Bass player,,,4-string strummer 😎
Maso,,
First concert I went to at Westchester County Center,,,my neighbor dragged us kids 🙄
to see ‘The Young Rascals’,,opening act ‘The Left Banke’ (Walk Away Renee’) 66’/67′ ish.
Paul
Paul sounds like late Seventies era…I was Early seventies…Maso fills in for the sixties.

at The Chance
in Poughkeepsie, NY
I was there and had a very small part in it.
Steven Tyler from Airosmith was from Yonkers and we all knew him by his real name; Steven Tollarico. I would have been in the same graduating class with him if I hadn’t left the public school system after my 5th. grade. He had several bands that played in Westchester County from 1963 on. The Strangeurs, The Dante’s and then The Chain Reaction with Perry and Hammilton. They probably played the Fore ‘N Aft in White Planes. Billy Casey was in the same graduating class as Steven, but they wouldn’t let Steven graduate because of some legal trouble he had then involving a drug sting.

Also, Pipp and Guy Gilette from Yonkers who Dino remembers from the Fore ‘N Aft also. They were called “Big River” I think and had John Plevritis and sometimes little Gerry Patillo on guitar, very good. Those guys are in Texas now and own an old club where Lightnin’ Hopkins used to play. Go see: http://www.campstreetcafe.com/ Now they do a folksy sort of cowboy routine. Guy Gilette was one of the first draft card burners… ultra liberal ACLU type.
