55 E/G – New old ride

Frank…..Difference in the front clips. The company I got the fiberglass parts from makes 3 different front clips. The difference is all in the front aero dynamics styles, from just rear of the headlights forward. The stock Chevy version has the grill laying at a backward angle, from the top to the bottom (That is the one I wanted but got the 2nd version by mistake). The 2nd version is more aero dynamic with the grill laying forward, the bottom of the grill is more forward than the top. And the 3rd version is the Pro Mod style with the grill laying in a wedge attitude for the least wind resistance.
Those changes effect the parking light mounting angle and the opening where the grill mounts. The hood does not come down to the grill area and that changes the way the top grill bar gets mounted also. The 2nd and 3rd version were not made for the stock grill and parking lights to be installed.
An example of the Pro Mod style, back on page 71 Vbob posted a 55 with the Pro Mod style front clip.

An update on some of the recent changes made to the 55 Odd Job. The wiring – complete and everything is working. The mods made to the floor covering now three pieces from the two piece version with a smooth transition between the pieces and today we finished changing the 4.57 spool back to the 3.25 Detroit locker. The car is again ready to street drive and the interior project is ready to begin.
