Those header pipes are almost unique…! Almost like a signature, they have to be duplicated in exact detail no doubt…!
Dino

is a 50 year time laps,,

I am going to predict the the Schlegel “Helzapoppin” will get a lot of national attention in magazines. It’s just a pretty car with a time stamp on it along with the Moon Eyes yellow D’master car in California. And did I hear someone else say that Dode and Jim will reproduce theirs too…?
Maso
This months Hot Rod magazine
has pictures of Dode & Jims
mopar powered fed, and their twin engine fed,
the repro moon eyes car is also in the same picture,
AND an action picture of their dart
chassis with Dode driving looks
like one from the ’65 Nationals (where he tree`d gartlets
but the Hemi caught the small block chevy at the line,
When I talked to Dode in Febuary he mentioned that he
was doing some work on the originals for present the owners.
He was also working on a chassis for the 50th NHRA event
out in calif that should be in any of the up coming issues
As for my piece I hope it will be remembered by any of the
racers in the tri-state that remember her & the name,,
thanks
Bobby
that is the basic print for their DART chassis
was able to be changed as the new racer needed,
that was the chassis Ron used with the blown motor,
it was at dover, it was the chassis with the single hoop
and the frame came to a point from the engine plate towards the axle
that was the Indy / Garlits race chassis.
Dode was kind enough to send me an copy of that for my history / file.
Bobby…Whats the latest on the ol’ girl ? Paint yet ? You still going to HIDE it now, until it’s all done and drive us nuts???
YEEEEP 😯
all good thing come to those who WAIT, 😮

“AWESOME,”

Opps…Had to fix a post I did …Bobby knows what I mean…I see what you ment on the phone Bobby – about how nice the body work was done around the cage .Thats why I sharpened the photo to see the detail . Nice stuff. It’s all straight again .Looks like better than when it was first constructed. Oh- whats that little scooter in the garage? see them advertised on TV and dodge them in Walmart.thats neat ! Make it a Gasser !
Hey Bobby, She’s lookin’ pretty sweet! Thanks for the link to the E-bay listing for the Olds guy. Seriously thinking about a similar setup for my International Gasser project. Can’t wait to see your car all done. -Jason
