                    bobrizzi,
My parents bought their home on Rose Drive, off 6N, in 1959 for $14,000,,the area was
nick-named ‘The North Yonkers’..Many “I” talians..The famous question from the general local population,,,”Are you in the Mafia”?…Our anwser would be..’But of course
we are,,,and who handles the commercial garbage (waste management) and cement distribution around here” 😆
The “Lake Lounge”,,out-lived Dover by almost 35 years…”The best meat in town”,,,not really,,as Rodney Dangerfield once said,,,’Low-grade dog-food”…Nothing was better than going to the ‘Lake Lounge”, and seeing your neighbors wife dance “topless”:o
.Don K,,You know Mark Hitt…I used to serve drinks to his sister Pam,,at ‘The Alpine Inn”
a little bar in Lake Secor,,back in 77’/78’…Nice girl,,and had a nice friend Donna Carbonera.
Never forgot how ‘Rat Race Choir’ broke my heart,,,we wanted them for our High School
Reunion at Lakeland High School,, but the ‘Choir” wanted way too much ‘cash’ $3500..???
I think that computes to about $85,000 in todays market…Nobody could play “Zeppelin” like them…..I think our high school committe had to go through the “CTA” (Creative Talent
Agency) to book them…another ‘connected’ business 😉
Paul,,,Just what was the ‘cover charge’ at ‘The Scrounge Lounge” 🙄

                                        Lake Lounge History,
Didn’t everyones girlfriend work there at one time or another? 😆
Also, some of the names of the ‘professional dancers’ can rival some of the car names at Dover.
                                        * ‘Goldilocks’ at the Lounge,,,’Goldilocks’ SS/HA 69′ Nova; Jay Hannsman (sorry Jay)
                                        * ‘Creamsickle’ at the Lounge,,,’Creamsickle’, an orange G/SA 68′ Belvedere
Best name of any dancer,,’Gladys Getyourrocksoff’,,she must have been Russian 😆
                                        Paul,,Make my ‘Stoli’s to go 😎 ‘Nostrovia’

Also ….changing Main heading to include All ‘Metro’ Area Fairfield-Duchess-Putnam …not just Westchester. Like “hang-outs” we did Do things, other than race and build in the garage. Some crossed -over .Set up the “run” at the Hang-Out or “club”…..AND every ‘Watering Hole” in a 50 mile radius from Wingdale, on a Sunday, had Cars on trailers in their parking lots….wish we had some of those photos.A lot of places from Chicken joints to Pubs, had their business spiked from Dover customers.

Of course at “The Lake Lounge”, I only went their for the ‘intellectual conversation’
The amazing things that those girls would ‘say’.
Stage III,,that wasn’t the little ‘go-go bar’ on the out-skirts of Danbury, was it??

Hate to say I did it too,,but I flat-towed my fathers SS/I 68′ Cuda to Route 100, out towards Millwood (heading out from White Hall Corners/Somers),,and raced a kid from Cortlandt Manor..We had about 150 people their, late-nite fun..Open-headers and 9″ slicks.
