HEY TOM, THAT SMILE SAYS IT ALL ❗ ❗ ❗ 😆
GOOD FOR YOU BUDDY ❗ ❗ ❗ 😆
Frank… 😎
Frank said it all!! Perfect!! 😆
The plan for Saturday evening is to test at the Lakeland track.
Photos of the first tire smokimg burnout !
Well……The day didn’t go as planned.
Loaded the car on the trailer and headed to the Lakeland dragstrip. Shortly after starting out the driver of the car following us told us to check the right rear wheel on the trailer.
The bearings had failed and made a big mess, welded the inner race to the axle. It took us about 3 hours to get the problem fixed. Checking with the track it was an ok thing we didn’t make it, the Saturday event was rained out.
Did find out some interesting information about the Lakeland track. The new track owner has invested a lot into developing a good situation. The track is now an IHRA track and has had at least one big event before today. Today’s event was big enough to pack the place and the line going in was like the old Dover days. The line outside the gate was about a mile long to get in.
guess it was better to find and fix the trailer close to home….track info good for you guys down there.
The previous owner just got to the point of not giving a damn about the place. Hopefully, the new people have it figured out. Time will tell. ………………………..Mikey 😆
Trailer maintenance done. Pulled all the wheels and bearings. Checked the bearings, cleaned and repacked. Made another mod to the trailer to make it easier to load the 55 Chevy. The car sits pretty low.
7/31/12 – Maintenance on the trailer is done again. Found a missing bolt in a fender and replaced it. Replaced an LED tail light that didn’t have all the bulbs burning. Checked all the tire pressures. Now the trailer is ready, again.
The 55 Chevy is on the trailer ready to head north to New York.
We have a few things to pack in the morning and than we head out on our way to the Dover 4th race. We plan to stop along the way to ride the motorcycle in the mountains but we will be in New York early.
HEY
Have a safe road trip!!! Do take pics along the way!!
See you in the lanes Saturday a.m.!!!!
OH, NO snow in the forcast!!!
