All the welding is completed on the new sheet metal, all five pieces are in place. The finish grinding is in progress.
Sure is looking good, Tom. I’m up late like you, this Chemo pump thing is keeping me awake sometimes. Oh well.
The up late thing seems to agree with retirement. Seems like you are doing well with the treatment and that’s a great.
the “FLORIDA DOVER NIGHT SHIFT”….hey guys..’ watch the store’ while I’m Sleeping.
“BLAKE’S BODY BOTIQUE” 55 CHEVY SPECIALISTS CALL AFTER MIDNIGHT.ASK FOR TOM.
The new sheet metal is coming together. Had to make a chassis modification to be able to drop the rear low enough to install the tires. Got the first wheel and tire on with clearance after some adjustments. This was the time we found out just how wide a 22.5″ tire really is.
PS. No calls yet Pete but thanks for advertisement.
Looks like time for the “Casey” wheel well Cut…ax…jig saw…pizza box pattern.
Things still going but seems like at a slow pace. With the rear sheet metal welded in place, and never to come off again, we are working some of the stuff that does not show. After the chassis mod to drop the rear end for tire changes we had to re-do the brake lines to get more more room to move the rear down lower. Than we found the locator bar needed some work to let the rear end drop down. Now it looks like we can change tires with a lot less work, still not easy but now with less work.
Had to make some spacer panels to close the gaps between the fenders and tubs. Last night we sealed the rear fenders to the wheel tubs and sealed more in the trunk area.
Sounds like you are not going to cut the wheel wells, Hmmmmm??
Mikey….The wheel wells will be stock at least for a while. Hard to cut them after all that $$.
