OH! Almost forgot! Dino, these South East Gassers ever have you, hand paint the lettering on there drag cars? That’s another one of there rules, “NO” decal lettering! Has to be ‘period’ correct! Living down in North Carolina, these ‘good ole boys are in your stomping grounds and wondered if you did your ‘magic’ hand lettering, on any one of them? Just curious? 🙄 …Pete.
I just want to comment on the quality of the South East Gasser’s video that I posted a link for.
They did such a fine job with the video and it’s editing. It was done by “Go South Video Productions”.
I’m wondering if there would be a way to hire them to do one of our DDS events too…
Just a thought.
SNOW, SLEET, FREEZING RAIN, thats why people go to Florida for the winter. Unless as it happens you had a 4:00PM flight out of Albany then you had better have a comfortable seat to sleep on at the airport. How you doin Kman.

Drag racing generations just continue to carry on….How about Austin Prock, tuner Jimmy Prock’s son? Did real well in first T/F event. Of course his grandfather Tom was an early gasser then F/C racer. Dino, I believe there are some pics on the site of the Prock and Howell gasser running at Dover from the ’60s…let’s see ’em. Future is looking good!!

I remember that ‘gasser’-‘fuel’ meet Smitty! I remember the Prock and Howell ‘flip-top’ 33 Willys body, and they matched raced using fuel instead of gas,and put on a good show! There were 4 of them racing, and I think they were all from California through a promotion (?).
Hey Cakes, Louie DiDonato just registered on Hamb. He owns Tarentolas 40 Willys C/GS car a long time ago and still owns it. He said he is restoring it back to when Vinnie owned it.

WOW!!!! That’s ‘GREAT’ news Pat!!! THANK YOU VERY MUCH, for letting me know, and the ‘best’ part, it’s still “ALIVE”!!! I’ve got fond memories of seeing Vinnie Tarantola running it, in C/GS at Island Dragway, back in ’63’ and ’64’. He had the National Record, and also won the ’64’ Nationals in the C/GS class! Maybe not a coupe, but a sedan, it doesn’t matter…why? It’s a ‘Willys’, what more can I say? 😀 Pete.

Nice get together Pat, he’s a good long time friend, since 1966,and we’ve hunted deer together ever since! We both worked at the same dealership. He was a ’roundy- rounder, and me, in the drags. In ’70’ and 71′, I helped him build one of his stock cars, a whole ‘new’ ball game for me! lol. Now at ’80’, he’s still at it, rebuilding a ‘nostalgia ’37’ Chevy coupe, and it looks damned good! I only wish I lived closer to him, to have helped him along, restoring it. He was,and still is, an excellent body man,and welder! Back in the day, he painted two of my
drag cars, that came out like glass! THANKS for letting me know Pat, you bumped into him. My plans are to see him next month, then in May, at Rhinebeck Show, as I will see you, also!….Pete…a.k.a “Cakes”! 😉 😀
Pete instead of planning a date, just do it on the next good weather day. Grab a motel room and go back the next day. Nobody knows how long any of us have. Live now or forever hold your peace.
