….I like that “the Don”….
Mater, back then,in order to make a Chevy ‘small’ block run,you had to wind them tight to 8 grand plus! Sometimes you ‘paid’ for it.At Island in ’63’ blew the engine thru the traps (no# 5 piston needed some fresh air). Our class competition said, guess you guys are done for the season? Our answer,’nope’,be back next Sunday.Well, during that week was like a Chinese fire drill, scrounging spare parts, and hustling between our jobs to put together another ‘screamer’ racing engine,we made it! Biggest delay was waiting to get the internal parts back from J&J Balancing in Patterson,N.J.to put the engine back together. Was it a hassle back then…nah, just fun for the challenge! Talk to other ODF’s ‘been there, done that’ I’m sure! ๐ Mater dwell on the future,I’m sure your having as much fun nowadays with your Fairlane as we did back in the day!
Saw a few ODF’s at the Dutch Classic at Maple Grove today. Weather looks great for the weekend come down and see the best in sportsman racng.
HEY
While were talking about pumpkins and Sweden !!

Great job, Billy. It was just a matter of time, and the right conditions. Now that you’ve got that first 6, more will follow. Again, Congratulations to you and the team. ………………….Mikey ๐ฎ ๐ฏ ๐ ๐
Great job, Billy. We have been waiting to see that, congratulations.
Just ran my first 6 second pass on Thursday with the 55, ๐ ๐ However it was on the 1/8 mile not the 1/4. ๐
Again good to see your first 6 second pass on the 1/4 mile.
Billy CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! FINALLY that magic ‘6’ you conquered! And you deserved it,you and the family working so hard to reach your goal!!! ๐ฎ ๐ Pete.
Congratulations Billy. Great job ๐ ๐ ๐

Tom, congrats on your running in the sixes. The Mustang runs sixes too, right?? ๐ Looks like you have some of your problems straightened out. Way to go !! I’m really looking forward to getting together at the track, and some car shows. ๐ I think I found the problem with my not getting full throttle. I adjusted the cable after my wife pushed the throttle down, but never checked it after the adjustment. ๐ Yesterday, I don’t know why, but I was looking at the pedals, trying to see where I can put a brake-light switch, and I noticed that the throttle pedal was really close to the firewall. ๐ฎ I pulled up on the pedal, and the whole assembly moved. ๐ฏ There is a crack/break in the bracket set-up that holds the pivot assembly for the pedal. ๐ I now wonder how long I have NOT had full throttle.?.?. ๐ณ I keep hoping that some day, I’ll get it all fixed. ๐ But then I won’t have anything to piss me off and keep me busy. Oh, well. ๐ ……………..Mikey ๐
Mikey,it’s all part of the ‘hot-rod’ mind games! At least you feel ‘good’,when you find something ‘bad’,and fix it ‘right’ Be prepared for whip lash when launching your Willys! ๐ฎ ๐ Pete.
Hey Guys, Just go back about an hour ago from Maple Grove. WHAT A GREAT WEEKEND โ
We got to watch Masracing reach their goal โ They have been so close, but just couldn’t
get over that barrier. Well, last evening Billy ran a 6.94 @ 191 mph with a 1.01 60 ft. time.
He was hooked โ ๐ I saw Billy this morning and offered him and his superb crew chief
and son B.J. my congratulations โ Billy told me that he couldn’t stop smiling. It was like
he won a national event. ๐ “So well deserved” โ I have some pictures from the event,
but I have to go through them carefully because Dino will break my stones about my camera/
phone pics. ๐ Oh yeah, I talked with Lee Valentine down there and he said that Donnie
Carroll was racing down in Georgia this weekend. So good luck to him โ Oh, Masracong
ran a 7.02 @ 189 mph earlier this afternoon. “Not too shabby” โ ๐
Frank… ๐
ps. I know that “Speed” is looking down with a big smile and is so proud of his buddy Billy โ
As I mentioned earlier(thursday) I had some minor surgery Friday then went up in a “glider” Saturday. I have video but can’t get it posted yet. But the local TV station was there and here is the link. It was AWESOME ๐ ๐ ๐

Hey Pat, We had an awesome time at Maple Grove this weekend. I saw Tom Goldman
there and told him that you said hello. He asked how you were doing and I told him that
you were OK and probably off sky diving, snorkeling, snow skiing in Vail, CO or maybe
shark hunting. Tom just smiled and said COOL ! I’m sure you know that he went to the
semi’s last weekend at the Nationals ? Anyway, it sounds like you’re doing find and now I
have to add glider rides to the list ! LOL Be well my friend !!
Frank…
ps. Tom’s S/Gas Corvette in the lanes at the Grove…….
