Just a short note to any former M&M Speed and Custom Forum members. The new web site is up and running, not all complete yet, but you can make posts, and put up pictures. Just register, or re-register, and I’ll activate you asap. We are trying to contact all, or some of the old members, but it’s proving to be pretty tough. Thanks. ………………….Mikey 😆

WOW Pat!!! Love it! Albers and Minnick’s AA/GS that was Jack Merkel’s ole ‘glass’ 33 chopped Willys AA/GS! Jack of course, had a big block Chevy, whereas these guys had a ‘Hemi’ in it. The only difference to the body paint work,is a ‘silver” accent stripe, following the upper side lips from hood to quarters. I believe they ran the ‘Nationals’ in 70 (?) with it.Sad part about this all was ‘Ohio’ George kinda ‘killed’ the Willys,Anglia,Austin bodied blown gassers, with late model bodies that took there place in the blown gasser ranks. I ‘kinda’ understand ( but not completely) when I talked to George about it. Like he said,’times were changing’! With more powerful engines, and more traction from slicks, his Willys became a ‘bear’ to handle! The Mustang bodied AA/GS that he built, handled like a Cadillac, blasting down the 1/4 compared to his Willys he said! Why I question this all, Jack’s Willys ran close to George’s speeds and et’s ,and I don’t remember him having ‘handling’ problems (?) do you Pat? Anyway,THANKFULLY Jack’s Willys was found and restored by the late Vinny Musicaro (taken too young in life) and purchased ( in excellent hands) by Ron Normann ,of Il. to complete the restoration to run the 1/8th mile with it. if you remember,Ron has Merkel’s 39 Willys B/GS he’s restoring, and Al Zerbarini’s 40 ‘Bee Line’ Willys A/GS he displayed at the ‘Nationals’ last year.Anyway, bottom line……THANK YOU PAT! YOU MADE MY DAY!!!! Pete 😉 😛
