Sorry guys, sometimes i just get frustrated with the damn thing. I’ve been out of the game too long and sometimes I feel overwhelmed. What really pisses me off is that I know what a good mechanic I am. Nothing used to get to me. I will fix this, I just need to calm down. I’m going to buy a timing light tomorrow, and get the timing squared away. I found the paperwork on the crank trigger and the wiring for the 7AL2 box. I will figure this shit out. It’s not possible to get dumb from not working on gas stuff on a regular basis. I know I can do this, and I’m going to. Sometimes I just have to vent. Just seems like the more I do or fix, the worse everything goes. I just put new plugs, new 1000ca battery, volt meter, good gas, washed and dried the car, and it stuck all of that right in my ear. I’m going after the timing first, then I’m gonna investigate the carb, maybe lower the front float just a tad, and go from there. I’ll be able to tell a lot by just trying a launch in the street off the trans brake. If it falls on it’s face again, I’ll know it’s not right. If it tries to jump out from under me, it’s good. And Pat, I might just call you to pick your brain. Tomato, don’t lie to me and not show up, I’ll be forced to hurt you. PM me for my cell. If you do get up to Kissimmee and the car is right, we can go to the track, but it has to be on a Friday. ….Mikey 😆

Mickie a couple of things you could check that are very simple are no1 your grounds a bad ground with an MSD will cause all kinds of issues make sure your box is grounded to the chassis and the motor .I run a ground from my box to the chassis and one from the chassis to the motor if your motor is not grounded well can also cause trans brake problems !Also check your pick up wires from your crank trigger to your box they could be switched the car will run but run like crap . One last thing check your rotor to make shure it is phased properly .I hope this helps i’m shure you will find the problem good luck.

Thanks Billy, I appreciate the info. I hunted down all the paperwork I have on the crank trigger, and rotor phasing, and I’m going to investigate the situation. I’ll figure it out, I just needed to vent a little. I was so angry, that I almost sold the car to a guy at the track. He offered me $25,000. and I told him no. If he had said $30,000, he would have been taking the car, truck, and trailer, and I would have called my wife to come and get me. …………Mikey 😆
