Mikey,i gotta give you ‘alot’ of credit! For ‘all’ the gremlins you faced, from Lebanon Valley, and all the way home;most guys would have ‘thrown in the towel’! You are one heck of a ‘diehard’ drag racer, for no matter what, you delete your problems, one by one,and move forward to correct them! I admire your attitude in life!
Hey Tom, Looking good ! I’d love to see that 572 under the hood of my “55 Chevy !! 😆
Good luck with your installation and I hope everything works out for you………

Question:What ever happened to Cy Vigulto ,with his primed ‘Willys’ pickup (Kevin Dunn’s old ride)? I remember him running the Valley I think last year with a small block Chevy (ran ‘good’),then he went the ‘big block’ route, and had overheating problems (???).I thought I’d see him at the Dover 3rd meet.I was aware Kevin wasn’t going with his latest Willys pickup.Cy are you still out there? What’s cooking?
Now there’s a name that I know. When I had my slicks and inner tubes for sale, Cy bought my tubes, and I shipped them up to him. Wonder what happened to him?? I really wanted to meet him, and see that Willy’s pickup.

Pete, I have had nothing but trouble with this car since the day it showed up in my driveway. Sometimes I think God is getting even with me for something I did to piss him off! I just want to run the car occasionally, and get it consistent. I had an intake leak(vac), Nitrous leak, fuel leaks at and from the BG pump, severe electrical problems, some of which showed up at the 2nd Annual at Island. I got all of those issues fixed, converted the carb to run E85(plus built a spare/loaner), all new rubber, and have the car running low to mid 6s in the 8th mile. I changed the 4 link bars around and put a set of 130lb springs in the rear, and the one time I was able to run the car before the Valley, the suspension was working pretty good. Could only make 2 passes as the weather turned to crap. I just made up my mind that this car is going to do what I want it to do, it’s not going to beat me, I’m going to kick it’s butt!!! When I get the motor straightened out, the only thing left will be the trans. I know I’ve got issues there, but I don’t need the trans brake at this point. I can “foot-brake” the car just fine, but I’ll have to go through the trans sooner or later. Good thing I can do all this crap myself, or I would be going to the “poor-house”. Ah hell, I used to love this stuff!! Notice I said used to. …..Mikey 😆
Hey Mikey, hang in there! Good thing your mechanically inclined(if not, you’d be thinning out your wallet,’big’ time!) You got a ‘beautiful’ Willys,it’s worth it (these hot-rods seem unpredictable at times.and keep you on the go every time).Keep the faith, and hey,as we get older, seems we get a bit more ‘grumpy’ at any projects we get involved with;it’s normal! Hang in there Mikey, take it one step at a time!…….Pete.
Pete, I really do love the Willy’s, but I never had hemorrhoids until I bought that car! The biggest thing that bothers me, is no help other than a neighbor, a good guy, but I don’t trust him with anything too technical. I only have 2 daughters still at home, a 17yr old and a 9 year old. Neither one are really interested in “getting dirty”, and my wife just laughs if I ask her for more than an ice tea. I’ll get it all fixed and be back at the track in a few weeks, just have to save up for the roller lifters. Pictures soon. ………..Mikey 😆
Tom how do you like that pro charger?
Hey Tom, Did you have to get a permit for that plumbing job ?? 😆
Man !! That looks sharp !!! I hope it runs as good as it looks !! Keep
us posted…………
Frank……..
……Tom ❗ that sure looks great 😮 and if thats not enough horsepower you can get a Ford motor 😯 luv tomato 😀
masracingtd1167…… We have made changes to engines over the years, bigger carburetors, more carburetors, port and polish, bigger cams, bore and stoke etc. Usually the gain in horsepower is less than a 100 for each change but bolt on a Pro Charger and gain over 600 is amazing.
Just need to get it under control now. The 1st test pass the tires vibrated, not smoking them or tire shake but some where in-between.
The 2nd half throttle leave it picked up the front end when I got on it, let off and got on it again, picked up the front end again, shifted to second, ran out second on a turbo 400 and coast to the finish line quicker and faster than ever before. It was about 1.0 second quicker and 15 mph faster than the best pass up till than.
To answer your question, do I like it, no I love it. When to much is just enough I love it and I know you know what I mean about too much.
If I sound excited it is because I am. The estimated HP is around 1300 and that’s not bad for a street car.
WOW !! That’s amazing !! I got goose bumps just reading your post..I’ve seen a few
cars run with a Pro-Charger and they were very impressive….Nice to hear how it works
for you first handed…Looking forward to hearing how you make out…
Frank…
Tom…Thats awesome!! Looks great. My son put put a Procharger on a 97 Cobra (4.6) a few years ago. After it was dynoed it made about 500 hp. That was on a BONE Stock 4.6 w/headers!! I tell ya..when that thing wound up it was scary. 10 second ET’s if it would hook. He’s been after me to put a blow through on my 70 Chevelle since then. This new era of horsepower is insane. Have fun, be safe…that crazy hp creeps up fast on ya.
