BUT the “Captian” Daryl Dragon was a mean keyboard player …and Tennille -well- 6 ft.tall and …..eldest daughter of Frank Tennille, a former big band singer with Bob Crosby’s band, and Cathryn Tennille, a pioneer television talk show host. Toni’s sisters, Jane, Louisa and Melissa, all sang on the Captain and Tennille variety show, Toni’s 1980 Talk Show, as well as on Captain & Tennille albums…little music trivia here….Dragon had been playing in a backing band for The Beach Boys, but was between tours when Tennille called him in to audition as a replacement keyboardist for Mother Earth. In return, Dragon later got the Beach Boys to take Tennille on the next tour as part of the backing band he was in . When the tour was over, they began performing as a duo at the Smoke House Restaurant in Burbank, California..And were ‘discovered’ by a record company..bet ya didn’t know she also worked with Pink Floyd! as singer in “THE WALL” and with Elton John and Simon & Garfunkel….The ‘announcer’ knows his Rock.

Lettering Done and in the Tube! Old Skool ! Walter V. the local ‘brush man’ will put some frosting ,cherries and Real brush work to graphics ‘cake’….and I sent Jason my nice color shot of the original Pumpkin to get him in the ‘zone’.

Well here’s the scoop…. The “Zone” is exactly where we’ve been! Some pretty hard thrashing and some “advanced turd polishing” in other areas has finally made her paint worthy…. The old girl really looked better in pictures, and now she is an “aerodynamic ” race car with natures “flow thru ventilation” eliminated. Tomorrow she will see paint, then Walter will hit her up with his voodoo paint brush! “the man has serious skills!” … A little buttoning up, and she’ll be off to RCE so Donnie and Lloyd can give her a nice healthy pulse, by thurs. or no later than Fri. Once the motors fit, and the hole is cut in the hood We will get it back and shoot it hot rod black! We will also give her a good going over with the buffer post engine install, just in case. The colors are sweet and pics will be posted soon. Hope all is to Mr. Speeds liking….after all…He’s…”The Man” !!, we wish him the best….. now if no one minds…I’m grabbin a beer!! – Jason, Custom Conversions
