Every so often I bring up Leroy Capels, who ran the ‘snack-shack’ in the pits at Dover.He was always a joker,and fun to talk to. Last I know he was retired from the Wingdale Super Market,and in poor health.Has any of the ODF members that live in that area, like Lisa,or Richie Head ever get to see,or talk to him,to see how he’s doing? Would have been nice for him to made it to Big Al’s for the 25th.

Mills Mansion Car show Staatsburg NY. If good weather is predicted a thousand cars show up. No judging, No registration fee. Just park on the lawn overlooking the Hudson and picnic.

Pat is right on the money!!! This is an excellent show of cars, antique classics, hot rods, and street rods,ect.!!! The Mills Mansion is a ‘beautiful’ setting estate,just to see by itself! No disappointments there,and well worth the trip,believe me!!!

Another ole ‘gasser’ found! I read about it on Facebook. The ‘Golden Gasser’! It was either a 53 or 54 Ford 2dr. that was ‘Chevy’ powered. Painted ‘gold’, and lettered on the doors. I have a picture of it from ’67’,in one of my photo albums,in the staging lanes,at Lebanon Valley.The new owner is gonna restore it to exactly how it was,as a ‘gasser’. It totally amazes me every so often,these ole drag cars are found,and still in ‘decent’ shape,after so many years! And the ‘plus’ is, seeing them resurrected !!!
