That was a day of church car shows. After we left the Dover Rod Run show at the First Baptist Church we went to another church The Countryside Baptist Church not to far away. It was their 4th Annual Car Show & Wild Game Cookout. Had food I only heard about before. There was all kinds of free wild game food, cooked in all types of recipes with strawberry short cake to finish us off. And finished off was the word, could hardly drive back home. It was a great day and the weather was beautiful.
This was the first weekend having the 55 back on the road in 5 weeks. We just finished installing the 4th 4L80E transmission Friday. Think we finally found the problem, all the transmissions may have been good but we think the lockup converter was cutting the “O” on the input shaft causing the failures.

I am changing to a aluminum radiator!

H2O VB I bought 3 gallons of Evans and then spoke to some cooling specialists and they said it doesn’t make it run cooler it just raises the boiling point so instead of puking at 220 it goes to 280 I sent mine all back ate the shipping but learned.

Had tap water in mine for 9 years, the only thing that went was my waterpump. Mezire said it was from lack of use. He said run it at least 20 minutes once a month.

Bob, seems Pat’s experience,is the way to go! Me, I heard (never experienced) using ‘distilled’ water. It contains no minerals to attack the aluminum, so they say (???) Six of one,a half a dozen of other??? 🙄 Mr. Pete.

Isn’t this how it stared with Bobby Schlegal and the earlier “Hellzapoppin'”, with a link to an E-Bay ad posted here at DDS dot com and ended up with bobby buying and restoring it. Bobby did a superb job and did it in very short time I might add.

This “Hellzapoppin'” might be more historically significant because in might be the one that Ron Abbott went to the final round against Don Garlits at the Indy Nationals on Labor day weekend in ’65 of ’66 driving the Cassidy and Woodward Dodge wedge gas dragster. Ron lost the final round against Don Garlits driving but only by inches…!
