Train derailment is north of us. Again we are lucky to be away from the mess. We are on the south side of Lakeland but thanks for asking.

Tom …Did you Go to Daytona ?

Dino…..Yes, did make Daytona, 1st time for us. Fun couple of days, traffic was crazy. Came home early due to brake problem with the Mustang.

Being only 25 miles away from the speedway, we attended the Run probably for the 10 time. John and Kim came up for it as well.
Thursday, Nasty, cold rain all day. We left the speedway about 3:00, and went to the Bel Air Plaza in Holly Hill. Poor turn out there. Had T-Giving dinner at Ruby Tuesday in the shopping center.
Friday, Had to finish a set of Harley heads that were going to a So. Florida customer (John and Kim would take them down there on their way home), so I didn’t get to the speedway till 1:00. Weather was good, infield a messy quagmire of mud, and muck. Jumped into John’s BBC 66 Nova, and hit Bel Air Plaza. Placed was packed
with hot rods, and show cars. Stayed there till 11:00, and went into Daytona for some street races that never happened.
Saturday, Rode my M/C, had enough of the Rod Run for another year. John and Kim went home after several hours at the speedway (trying to buy a 48 – 50 Chev p/up). No luck there, too expensive.

PS. They found 1, a 5 window 48 Chev. p/up on an S-10 frame for less than half of the going price in Daytona. Next project for them. 😉
